One of my goals for 2019 is to work on my head game… my mindset. One of the ways that I’m working to accomplish this is through meditation and yoga. (Routinely I do a HITT or Crossfit WOD- StreetParking) I’m a newbie to meditation and dedicated to working on this to discover how it can help me handle and reduce stress. So, I decided I needed to create a space that would be welcoming and encouraging for me to practice daily. I’m definitely the girl that buys the cute workout clothes to help with the motivation. So, of course I would need some essentials for this…after doing a little bit of research and looking at reviews I purchased this meditation pillow and yoga bolster from BrentwoodHome, they had a ton of good reviews! The meditation pillow and bolster have a beautiful cover (it also matches my home, added bonus) and are filled with corn husks and cotton- they’re also don’t contain any of the bad stuff; formaldehydes, phthalates, heavy metals, all the stuff you would hope to not see. (and we really try and keep out of our house) I pulled out my yoga mat that my fiancé purchased for me a few years ago- Manduka mats have a lifetime warranty- you can’t beat that!! and purchased a diffuser. This black stone beauty is small but powerful, I’m testing out different oil mixes but definitely loving the ambiance it helps create. I’m going to look at getting a few candles to light as well. And for the most important aspect, of actually meditating… I’m officially on day 23 using headspace, which is a fantastic app to get started and keep you going meditating. I have a lot of work still ahead of me- 10 minutes can be quite tough for me, but I figure 10 minutes of me time is not something to shy away from. Do you meditate? When do you find the best time to meditate is? Any suggestions or tips?
